Thursday 21st January - walk *** - Landguard Circuit – mainly cloudy after sunny morning.

Apparently, it is Squirrel Appreciation Day today, who knew, hope Squirrels everywhere had a great day :)

It has been a very frustrating few days for a windsurfer when I could have sailed for the last three days but my go to winter venue, the marina at Levington is currently closed and I don’t fancy an open sea session with the cool temperatures especially at my age:) Mag and I are trying to make the most of the current lock down by walking at least three miles every day, mainly along the prom. To make it more interesting by taking pics to send to ITV Anglia and BCC Look East weather and have had a few pics featured as well as still sending them to the local paper, you can never take enough pics of Mags back !!!! Storm Christoph worst winds seem to have passed in the night and we even had some sunshine, we needed a sack of birdseed so decided to take the van down to The Manor for a walk at Landguard Nature Reserve so we could get some on the way home. We parked up at 1.45 and it was very quiet but it was not surprising as the sun had just disappeared with a cool wind from the west as we set off along the footpath to the view point with the smell of hot tarmac in the air. We discovered the source of the smell as workers were laying tarmac in the docks. Again not many cars at the view point but several beautiful starlings looking for a meal as to set off along the Orwell to Landguard beach with not a soul in sight:) Back along the beach to the van, nipping to town for bird seed and a local paper plus Mag got some yummy cakes in the bargain bucket to have with a warming cuppa!

PS - apparently it is Squirrel Appreciation Day today, who knew :)
